ACD’s final-year BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance students completed their internships this summer at Bank of Ireland’s Business Banking Division at Percy Place. The internship is the capstone element of this and the BA (Hons) in International Business programme. Bank of Ireland’s intern supervisors invited ACD to the bank centre and expressed their satisfaction with the interns’ performance. ‘A positive outcome is the common experience for our business students,’ said ACD’s Head of Department of Business, Stephen Chandler, following the meeting with Bank of Ireland. ‘They learn a lot about the practical aspects of business practice in the course of the placement and the site benefits from their academic knowledge and their energy. A great many of our students have ended their internships with job offers from the placement site. As for those who elect to continue to the postgraduate level, the internship is highly significant work experience when they are taking their first steps in the career marketplace.’
